Summer Reading Program Finale!

The Summer Reading Program has ended for this year. The Jose Cisneros Cielo Vista Branch Library signed up 1,146 people for this year’s program, which was more than any other branch in the city! We were also proud to see more participants complete the program than in previous years! All the staff would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to all of our patrons for making our program a success! We hope you enjoyed reading with us this summer, and we look forward to making next year’s program even better!

To celebrate the achievement of the children (Babies to Pre-K and K-6) who participated, we held a finale party on July 25, 2015 with special guest Amazing Adrian!

Adrian astounded everyone with his magical abilities. He also explained to the children that they too could learn these skills by checking out books about magic tricks from the library and reading them.

After Amazing Adrian’s performance, refreshments were served and the children who read at least eight books or eight hours could pick up their certificates and gift bags. (Children who completed the program but haven’t picked up their certificates and prizes can come by the library within the next couple of weeks to pick them up).

We also awarded the prizes to the adult, children, and babies raffle winners. To be entered, they had to read at least eight books or eight hours. (Not pictured is the winner of the girls’ bike.)kindlewinner

In October, we will be launching a smaller Fall Reading Club, so please check back with us soon on how you can join! Thank you again for making our summer program so successful.
