When Ella, the library’s resident elephant, noticed that there were no programs for stuffed animals at the library, she sprang into action. She begged. She cajoled. She pleaded. Finally, she was allowed to host a Stuffed Animal Sleepover at the Jose Cisneros Cielo Vista Branch Library on Friday, September 25. Children were invited to drop off their stuffed animal friends to spend the night with Ella in the library. The stuffed animals were checked in by their loved ones and tagged, so they wouldn’t get lost. Quite coincidentally, Miss Jennifer, the children’s librarian, left her phone behind the night of the sleepover (even though she swears she put it into her bag right before she left), and Ella was able to document their adventures. Grumpy Cat thought it would be fun to pretend to be a librarian. She found wonderful books for all her friends to read.
Crafts are always fun. Cow Cow loved rolling around in the Pom Poms, while Pete the Cat tried to pick up the spilled crayons. Uh, oh, Elmo! Crayons are not for eating!
And, of course, at a sleepover there is always lots of yummy food to munch on. We hope the teens won’t be too upset that Ella and her friends raided their stash of snacks! Finally, all the fun wore them out, and they went to sleep. What a snuggly fun time! In the morning, the sleepover was over, and everyone went home. Ella will definitely be throwing another party in the future, but until then you can always take Ella home for a sleepover at your house!
