Marionette Workshop

The Jose Cisneros Cielo Vista Branch Library was delighted to host a marionette workshop on February 12, 2016, during our usual “Fun Friday” programming. The workshop was sponsored by the City of El Paso Museums and Cultural Affairs Department and the Texas Commission on the Arts.

Manos Arriba gave a wonderful class on how to make simple marionette puppets using basic materials: scarves, wooden beads, sticks, and string. Even though some of the kids, at first, felt that it was going to be difficult, they hung in there and were amazed that they could do it!

The kids especially enjoyed seeing the end result of all their hard work, and had fun making their marionettes dance, walk, and jump.
