The El Paso Public Library’s 2016 Summer Reading Program is in full swing. Just as last year, we have four different age groups that participants can join: Toddlers (Babies and Pre-K), Children, Teens, and Adults. Participants are invited to make a pledge to read either 8 books or 8 hours between June 4th and August 31st.
So far, we have had over 800 patrons at Jose Cisneros Cielo Vista Branch Library taking the pledge to read this summer. Everyone who registers gets to join our wall of readers.
On June 4th, we officially kicked off our program with a Kids Olympics. There were sack races, a pool noodle javelin throw, and a shot put ball toss to participate in. We also had Olympics-themed crafts such as making an Olympic torch.
