Dr. Seuss’s Birthday Celebration!

On Saturday, March 4, we concluded Read Across America week with a birthday celebration for Dr. Seuss. Children were invited to two special Seussical events: A Dr. Seuss themed storytime and a party with crafts, refreshments, and games.

Children munched on Hop on Pop-corn while they made Truffalo trees out of pretzels and cotton candy. They did Lorax and One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish crafts. They also took turns reading some of Dr. Seuss’s most famous rhymes.

Attendees had the opportunity to take pictures with our stuffed giraffe Savannah (who was decked out in a Cat in the Hat hat) in front of the artwork outside the library. It was a fun day celebrating reading at the library.
